I’ve always been into the latest technology. I’m not one for keeping a cell phone for longer than a year because I always want a newer and better one. Throughout the years that I’ve been an owner of a cell phone I never once stopped to think where these phones that are no longer up to my standards go. Honestly, before this assignment, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as e-waste. It took me by surprise to see all these cell phones, TV’s, and computers flowing in rivers in different countries miles away from where it had been used. More than half of the TV’s and computers from the United States get shipped to different countries just to be stripped of valuable metal and then to be discarded into a river that connects to the ocean. Not only is this e-waste hurting us, the human population, but it is also harmful to our environment and our animal life. We should have tried to fix this problem a long time ago. A lot of countries aren’t as “blessed” as we are, so therefore we need to fix what others cannot. It isn’t just hurting people, animals, and the environment of the country that all of this e-waste is taking place in, but it will eventually get to the rest of us as well. We definitely need to find a different, more responsible solution to this problem before it becomes even more out of hand.

the worst spot is to be at the postion were you cannot use the tools right, because you would not only die, but you would also get really sick from it.
ReplyDeletewell i can see where you are comin from cuz not so many of us knew where any of the technology was going or that their was a such thing as e-waste and that its affecting us the things around us and the environment so i understand where you comin from.
ReplyDeleteAnd your response didn’t surprise me :D awww twins.
ReplyDeleteI read yours first, and then did mine, and at first i was like hmm... maybe... maybe I care. Maybe this is BAD and like I should like think about this. Then three seconds latter I was like, NAHHHH who am I kidding I don’t give a crap :) lol. But you’re right. Maybe one day when I grow up ill care. That’s a big maybe tho!
Wow, the way you express your ideals is very aspiring. I can honestly say that reading this opened my mind up to aspects about e-waste, I myself never realized. I think it’s so insane how students can be taught the same thing, and yet have totally different outlooks upon it and reactions. It’s always nice to learn off of others and share perspectives, I’m glad I was able to read yours it was very enlightening.
