its all about the way you put it out there (:

Although this article didn’t exactly catch my attention, I feel like it’s not extremely difficult to understand how we take an idea and turn it into reality. Backrub was the idea, Google was the reality. Someone can start off with an idea and take it to a company and then it goes from there. New ideas added, some taken away and then with brains, money, time, patience and a whole lot of advertisement, something that is going to be a big part of our lives is created. I think a big reason why Google is the top search engine over all the others is the way the company advertises what they create. Maybe it doesn’t state that in the article, but hey, that’s just my opinion.

e-waste, you have got to go.

I’ve always been into the latest technology. I’m not one for keeping a cell phone for longer than a year because I always want a newer and better one. Throughout the years that I’ve been an owner of a cell phone I never once stopped to think where these phones that are no longer up to my standards go. Honestly, before this assignment, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as e-waste. It took me by surprise to see all these cell phones, TV’s, and computers flowing in rivers in different countries miles away from where it had been used. More than half of the TV’s and computers from the United States get shipped to different countries just to be stripped of valuable metal and then to be discarded into a river that connects to the ocean.
Not only is this e-waste hurting us, the human population, but it is also harmful to our environment and our animal life. We should have tried to fix this problem a long time ago. A lot of countries aren’t as “blessed” as we are, so therefore we need to fix what others cannot. It isn’t just hurting people, animals, and the environment of the country that all of this e-waste is taking place in, but it will eventually get to the rest of us as well. We definitely need to find a different, more responsible solution to this problem before it becomes even more out of hand.
